Personal Belongings Policy

Only a limited number of items are allowed in the testing room. You are strongly encouraged to leave your personal belongings at home or in your car; however, as a courtesy, your test center will have an area away from the testing room designated for personal belongings.
Proctors and security personnel will ask to inspect your belongings at check-in to ensure that prohibited items are not carried into the testing room. If proctors or security personnel find items that are not permitted in the testing room, you will be required to place them in the Personal Belongings Area. You will not have access to these items during the examination, but may access them during the lunch break and at the conclusion of the examination.
Please note that it is not the responsibility of the proctors or security personnel to ensure the safety of the materials in the Personal Belongings Area.

Timing of the Exams

Testing personnel will keep the official time and will tell candidates when to start and stop work on each separately timed session. Candidates must not open the exam or begin work before instructed to do so by the testing personnel.  At the end of the exam, you must immediately put pens and pencils down when instructed to do so.
A verbal announcement will be made to all candidates when 30 minutes remain in each timed session. A final reminder will be announced when 15 minutes remain. In testing rooms where there are no clocks, or the clocks are not visible to all candidates, the timekeeper will mark time remaining on a chalkboard or flipchart that is visible to everyone.

Exam Cancellation

CIFM, in its sole discretion, may determine it is necessary to change the date, time, or conditions of the administration of the exam or cancel the administration of the exam to protect the safety of candidates and the integrity of the CIFM. Such alterations or cancellations may also occur if the administration of the exam is hindered by any cause that could not reasonably be prevented by CIFM, including "acts of God," such as fire, flood, earthquake, storm, outbreak of disease, or other natural disasters; or by acts of military, political, or government authority. If alterations or cancellations occur, you will be notified as soon as possible. However, if the exam proceeds as scheduled and you fail to attend, you will be ineligible for a refund or deferral.

Refund Policy

All CIFM policies go into effect immediately upon submission of an application to CIFM. You are responsible for reading and understanding all policies regarding CIFM, the CIFM's Programs, and exam administration before applying.  Your registration and enrollment fees are non-refundable. You may not defer enrollment fees to a future exam administration. In addition, you may not transfer your registration or enrollment fees to anyone else.
Applications are considered incomplete if any information required for entrance is not provided, if the Professional Conduct Inquiry and Candidate Responsibility Statement are not completed and signed, or if appropriate payment is not submitted along with the correct form. If you submit an incomplete application, you will be sent only one notice from CIFM. Completed applications must be received by CIFM within 30 days of the date on the notice, therefore missing information and/or items should be sent via overnight carrier or e-mail to avoid postal-service delays, and you should follow up with CIFM to confirm that your application is complete.

If you do not properly complete the application before the stated deadlines or do not meet the entrance requirements, your application will be cancelled and you will receive a reimbursement of all current exam fees, less a US$100 processing charge. If you do not pay or if your credit card is denied, you will not receive a refund and your application will be cancelled. If your application is cancelled, you will not be eligible to sit for the current exam unless you submit a new registration and enrollment form is submitted by the stated deadlines and all past-due and current fees are paid.
